Sri

After a 30-year career as a Fortune 500 executive, with good health, a happy family, and a full life, I still felt something was missing. A hike through the Grand Canyon sparked the clarity I needed: my lifelong habits of wellness, conscious eating, and love for the planet weren’t just personal—they were my dharma. I realized that if we could extend these values to others, we could help more people—and the earth—thrive.

My best friend Aruna shared this vision, and together we created Prana Kitchens. Leaving my corporate path behind, I’ve found deeper purpose in building something meaningful from the ground up.

Aruna

My love for flavorful food has been a lifelong journey. When I was diagnosed with fibroids and faced the possibility of surgery, I turned to Ayurveda. Through mindful cooking, fresh organic food, and lifestyle changes, I healed naturally—without medical intervention.

This experience awakened a deeper purpose: to inspire others, especially the next generation, to nourish themselves and the earth by supporting sustainable, organic farming. When my best friend Sri—who shares these same values—suggested we create something together, I immediately said yes. That’s how Prana Kitchens was born.

My journey into Ayurveda began as a search for healing after years as a professional ballerina left me physically depleted and emotionally disconnected. I battled anxiety, depression, and IBS—trapped in a cycle of stress and imbalance. Discovering Ayurveda changed everything. It taught me to tune into my body, find balance, and trust my own rhythms. Today, I help others reconnect with their inner wisdom and restore harmony to body, mind, and heart. It is my dharma to help others walk this path back to nature, wholeness, and themselves.

My life as a farmer began over 20 years ago, rooted in a deep respect for the natural world and an early fascination with medicinal and useful plants. Guided by the belief that fresh, seasonal food is a form of medicine, my work is an expression of reverence—for plants, for the land, and for the nourishment they offer.

One of my most essential roles at Kaluna is building soil. Tending the soil is not only the foundation for healthy crops, but a spiritual and ecological commitment to future generations. Over the years, plants have been some of my greatest teachers, and I continue to learn from them daily—through observation, relationship, and care.
